Beissoul & Einius in their new video – graceful creatures who turn on a day.

Electrofashion duo Beissoul & Einius, to reveal the music video to a first single from an upcoming album: “Innocent Black Coffee”

A music video of Beissoul & Einius, a Lithuanian electrofashion duo, was released to the new song – a graceful smooth animation about the predawn mission in the urban city. “Innocent Black Coffee” became the first track of the upcoming album expected for at the beginning of 2019. It’s going to be the second LP of the duo after “#asecretcontract” hit the UMA longlist and ‘Lion’ was shortlisted for the Unsigned Music Awards 2018 for the ‘Best International Video’ award.

Beissoul & Einius dream up the cloth made from glass and performances in the combination of music and avant-garde fashion, called “fashion show from out of this planet” by the media. The closest images for them are extraterrestrials in different characters: hillers in the “LION” short film, visitors in the photoshoot for D’SCENE in Bob Basset masks, monarchs on the “#asecretcontract” cover, and now – in “Innocent Black Coffee” – graceful creatures who turn on a day.

The recognizable B&E frontman’s accessories are hats made by him personally. One of them is featured in video – it is a portal into the other world. A portal-hat has its real double 160 sm in diameter and 4 m in circumference, wore by Beissoul during the huge solo Electofashion Show in Vilnius 3 months ago. In “Innocent Black Coffee” it’s easy to move around from one world to another, and even the hour hand obeys the music and time goes in a different way.

Beissoul & Enius in their recordings and live are two different types of delight – to understand B&E phenomenon it’s worth it to experience both. A good place to check Beissoul & Einius live will be one of the biggest and popular European festivals – Sziget – on the 10th of August. There will be a chance also to see B&E as the special guests of some of the magic Icelanders GusGus shows in their album premier tour.

A learned human physiologist, James Numbere ultimately quit his job a few years ago to finally follow his love and passion for music. The past years have already seen several releases from him which all garnered support from BBC Introducing whereas his current involvement in London’s Community Gospel choir has allowed him to work with the likes of Justin Timberlake, One Republic and Gregory Potter – to name but a few.

Today marks the brand new release of soul artist’s James Numbere’s new single, exclusively premiering on UMA Music.
Entitled ‘Smile’, the London-based afrocentric singer has teamed up with the charity ‘Operation Smile’ – an organisation which performs life changing surgeries on children in mostly third world countries with cleft lips and palates.

Although the artist showcases a more laid-back side with this impeccably stunning song this one again boasts with great energy and represents James Numbere’s poignant and passionate vocals.

Make sure you catch him at Hoxton Square Kitchen on April 22nd where he will perform alongside his 6-piece band in order to raise funds and awareness for ‘Operation Smile’.

April is in full swing and so are new releases! Check out our best picks from this month so far…

Hannah Scott – Signs Of Life

Originally from Ipswich and the daughter of an artist, Hannah Scott draws much of the inspiration for her music from her affinity with Italy. A year living and working on an olive press in rural Tuscany in her late teens provided the backdrop to her early work and she has found her musical home with creative partner Stefano Della Casa. The result of their work is a new album, ‘Pieces Of The Night’, due for release later this year. The first outing from the set of tracks is the anthemic ‘Signs Of Life’ – An emotive, piano-led composition that climaxes with a life-affirming chorus. Follow @hannahscott

Binky – Jacky D

Following the success of her critically-acclaimed debut single ‘Fireflies’, which is now approaching 150,000 streams on Spotify, London-based country artist Binky is back with another powerful pop-infused anthem, ‘Jackie D’. Binky established herself as a presenter on Sky TV’s The Smith & Rogers Country show. With each show featuring a performance by its presenter, Binky’s strength as a performer was immediately evident to all viewers, while the diversity of material performed showed she was a talent on the brink of bigger successes. Follow @binkyofficial

Filo Vals – Just Guessin’

Songwriting has been a pillar in the life of Filo Vals since he first picked up a guitar, aged just six years old. Influenced by the likes of Paolo Nutini, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley and Jack Johnson, a love with music developed almost instantly, and a few years later he took the step to learn the piano. As soon as he turned eighteen, he moved straight to London to pursue a career in music. Follow @filovals

Malory – Rapture

Multicoloured pop artist MALORY is set to release her first full EP ‘Dystopia’ off the back of 2 lead tracks ‘Rapture’ and ‘Nuclear Brandy’. The EP co-written and produced by the much in demand studio wizard Jamie Evans, and the pair have delivered a treat for the ears, full of charm, wit and musical expression – juxtaposing dark chaos and joyous celebration within it. Her leftfield take on pop has already received plaudits and support from BBC Introducing, XFM (John Kennedy) and many more. Follow @maloryofficial

Kit Rice x DJ Fen – Dance All Night

Following the release of his new single ‘Dance All Night’, and the announcement of his debut album ‘Konfidence’, up and coming London-based BRIT School alumni KIT RICE links up with longtime collaborator and UK Garage/House veteran DJ FEN for the infectious dance floor ready UKG remix of ‘Dance All Night’. Speaking about collaborating with the UKG veteran DJ Fen once again, Kit Rice says, “I have worked with Fen for a good few singles and remixes now and I love his style and genre! His beats are so clean and every time, he delivers a groove to melt your soul! With every song on this album I’ve collaborated with a DJ/producer that I have worked with before, so why not start with a bang! DJ Fen! UK GARAGE! Let’s go!” Follow @kitriceuk

Loveday – Close

Loveday is a 17-year-old singer and producer from the Midlands, UK bringing with her a lo-fi, electro-pop sound that is influenced by the honest day-to-day life experiences of a girl her age—first love, friendships, adventure, and growing up in the world. Her debut single, ‘Close’ is a perfect encapsulation of this— straight-up lyrics coupled with an honest yet forward-thinking production. Loveday’s halcyon and smooth voice is clearly evident through the track – the final product is genuine and uncompromised both in its musical content and sonic quality. Follow @thisisloveday

 Georgia Meek – Bare

Hailing from Surrey and now based in North West London, Georgia Meek beholds the wisdom and life experience of an artist far beyond her young age with an emotion fused alto voice range to suggest the same. Georgia’s forthcoming single release, the aptly named ‘Bare’, is a spiralling, rollercoaster-like ride of angst and emotions that comes barreling through a misty-eyed soundscape of orchestral driven melodies as honest, heart-wrenching vocals crash against a crescendo of piano, strings and vehement drum rolls. Follow @GeorgiaMeek

Alexander Vincent – I Won’t

Alexander Vincent has steadily been making a name for himself as a producer over the years, too—releasing four tracks with alternative R&B singer Sabrina Claudio, remixing the work of talented friends like Kan Wakan, and recording a new joint with the one and only JLO. From arena anthems to home studio bangers, working in a pop context has only deepened his relationship with the nuances of fly electronic music. Alexander Vincent’s debut single, ‘I Wont’ is a part electro-pop ballad, part R&B-tinged mission statement. The artist works through feelings of being silenced using a pastoral, measured yet deliberate delivery. Follow @alexandervincentmusic

Stash Peso x L Martin – Crystal

This year has seen powerful visuals from London’s most anticipated collective Too Rare To Die members Stash Peso and L Martin already – but they are not stopping with releasing great content anytime soon.
Their latest collaboration is the dynamic track ‘Crystal’ which combines both Stash’s stunning vocals and L’s lyrically brilliant wordplay. Stay tuned for more to come! Follow @Stashpeso and @lmartintrtd

Eight9Fly – Best Life

‘Best Life’ in Eight9FLY’s own words: ‘Where I’m from, being born with a silver spoon was a rarity. I grew up in New Cross, which was labelled as ‘ghetto’ at the time and living in South East London exposes you to a certain way of life that involves violence and crime but despite that it was a valuable time where great moments and stories were created through music… and that’s what the song is about, living your best life regardless of your situation or environment.’ Expect a compelling track featuring both his effortless singing skills and cold rap flow. Follow @Eight9FLy_

MUNCH! – Different Kinda Vibe

Drawing influences from various corners of hip hop culture, MUNCH!’s latest single ‘Different Kinda Vibe’ manages to incorporate old school sentiments and sounds – evoking scenes of lazy summer nights on the block, alongside a fresh and cleverly constructed beat courtesy of fellow Detroit native Nuntheless. He now announces this official music video which accompanies the track with party scenes and a playful vibe throughout, something which is evident across all his output. Known for a strong DIY ethic and positive take on hip hop, MUNCH! delivers again, as ‘Different Kinda Vibe’ showcases his musicianship, versatile flow and trademark, personal and uplifting bars. K Koke drops single ‘Letter Back’ taken off ‘FFF PRISON’ EP

Alongside the release of his 6 track EP ‘FFF PRISON’, which went straight in to the iTunes Hip-Hop chart at number 1, K Koke has dropped a new music video entitled ‘Letter Back.’

His EP takes us through a riveting journey of his time in prison, through his lyrics each song is trickled with a strong sense of self-realisation not just musically, but also personally. It is such a well-articulated account of the frustrations he feels as a man wrongly accused and having to face hard time. This EP takes it up a notch and takes a hard look at life from an inmate’s perspective and the effect it has on his family.

The harsh and restricting life of an inmate is really explored in this music video. ‘Letter Back’, as the name suggests, is a letter from a frustrated father to his family while he is in prison and missing all the core moment that make a dad, a dad. This video really tugs at the emotional heartstrings as it brings to life the inability for a man to see his child grow up. With visuals by Kye Taliana, the video has almost clocked 100,000 views in the few days since its release. This song is really reminiscent of the old grime/r&b sound that was very popular in the late 2005/ early 2006, helping to make this song so powerful. Taking influence from the old and reshuffling it to the new is what music is all about.

Featuring UK favorites Maverick Sabre, Dappy, Big French and Angel across the EP, to date FFF Prison has taken the Rap scene by storm. Charlie Sloth awarded ‘Letter Back’ with a prestigious record of the week across Radio 1 whilst Viper, Respect Magazine and Plugsville were all eager to catch up with Koke ahead of the release in exclusive interviews. Now with the release available across all outlets and performing at the top of its genre, its clear to see K Koke still has a compelling influence on the UK Rap game.

Taken from his ADHD album release, Tino’s eclectic edge is an incarnation of trap and pop and his flow oozes with a melodic and rhythmic edge providing a versatile twist to the artist. His flair for merging different genres allows him to develop a sound that lies on the cusp of the mainstream and underground scene.

Hailing from West London, Tino has catapulted onto the radar of key industry heads including the likes of fashion photographer Nick Night OBE and Atlantic Record’s A&R Twin B. He launched into the scene with his single ‘London Baby’ and has since released bangers such as ‘Shooters’, ‘London Kings’, ‘Go’ as well as his project ‘Young Salvador’. Being locked up in a cage for 23hrs a day for 20+ yrs isn’t a life I planned on seeing but I guess I gotta thank those four walls for the time spent within them because my music’s powerful!” Tino Kamal

The Tailormade release music video for ‘Primrose Hill’

$

Already an up and coming favourite in the indie pop music circuit, The Tailormade served as the Radio 1 Breakfast Show house band having been head hunted for their ‘Secret Busker’ feature to perform with The Vamps and James Arthur.  They have supported names such as Olly Murs, Louisa Johnson, CeeLo Green, Busted, Jess Glynne and Mullally as well as the legend that is Tom Jones and are now back with their second release of the year, another masterpiece, entitled ‘Primrose Hill.’

Although full of character and the cheeky charm that The Tailormade are becoming synonymous with, ‘Primrose Hill’ differs from the laddish magic of previous single ‘Mr. Perfect’ and feels much more personal in terms of its message. The music video that accompanies it, directed by Francesca Payne, is captivating and enthralling from start to finish, heart warming in its simplicity and yet so strong in its message, you simply don’t want it to end until you find out the whole story of each person’s account. It invites us to watch as passers-by tell nostalgic tales of love and heartbreak on a white board; tales you cannot help but relate to. That level of brilliance is what separates The Tailormade from any other music group; you can just feel them in their music, which is probably a key reason Boris Johnson crowned them as the ‘Best Buskers in London’. With their catchy hooks to the witty lyrics, their sound is nothing but beguiling.

Doing amazing things both in the studio and on the stage this year, The Tailormade have recently been confirmed to support Madness on their summer tour as well as hitting a number of festivals throughout the UK including BST with Michael Buble. This goes hand in hand with their recent flurry of support from platforms including Essentially Pop, Celeb Mix, Big Issue and the hugely popular live session purveyors, Sofar Sounds.

Southchurch – Fading

Longlisted for Best Electronic Act at this year’s UMAs and tipped as a Sound of 2018 by BBC Introducing Essex, Southend four-piece Southchurch have released their new single ‘Fading’. Produced by Livingstone Brown (Maxi Priest), the track blends garage grooves with soaring synth melodies and haunting vocals reminiscent of Becky Hill and Jess Glynne in this upbeat dance floor banger.

Smooth Ends – Be A Man

European Cream-Pop outfit Smooth Ends share new visuals for ‘Be A Man’, the title track of their 2nd EP of the same name, due to drop this June. This comes as they announce a tour of Europe, starting April 17th in Paris and playing 13 shows in 11 cities including shows at The Hope And Ruin, Brighton and Hoxton SBK supporting, supporting Courts at both.

Dawson Reeve – Hurricanes

Singer-songwriter Dawson Reeve has shared his second single, the lush acoustic driven ‘Hurricanes’. The electro-chill leaning production acts as the perfect foil to Dawson’s live instrumentation and intimate vocal delivery.

LAOLU – How To Feel

South East London singer/songwriter LAOLU dropped new single ‘How To Feel’ this week. The sultry RnB jam follows previous effort ‘All In Me’, both tunes act as somewhat of a comeback for Laolu, after taking time away from music for nearly three years, due to her battles with depression. Before having to step away, Laolu had been working with Katy B and Little Simz, and opening for the likes of Chip, Ghetts and Ms. Dynamite.

BBXO – Firestorm

BBXO is the innovative, creatively rich, collaborative project of Krisz Kreuzer & Musa Okwonga. For Musa, the BBXO mantra is synonymous with his work over the last decade. As a journalist, he’s been exploring the resurgence of the far-right in recent years, contributing to a number of publications including The New York Times. Notably, Musa has been taking an in-depth look at how far-right groups use refugees as a scapegoat for all that’s wrong with modern Germany. Lyrically, ‘Firestorm’ is Musa’s most poignant effort to bring his political views and journalism into his musical output.

Andrea Di Giovanni – Our Own World

Music really is a powerful thing. It’s a form of expression, a creative outlet, and in the case of Italian singer-songwriter Andrea Di Giovanni, and expression of truth. Combining this with his desire to perform, Andrea comes armed with an album of new music set to be released throughout 2018. His first single ‘Our Own Way’ is a momentous debut, as musically brave as it is innovative, showcasing his distinguished vocal, and contemporary dark-pop sound.

Rookes – The Game & The River

The virtuoso one-woman show now makes a return into 2018, with ‘The Game & The River’. A slow-burning track with an intrinsic edge, the later-half revealing a fusion of distorted, jagged beats and revitalising electronics. Rookes’ talents are on full display, an experimental edge, taking cues from her peers La Roux and Jeff Buckley.

Lenii – Human

Lenii’s first single release of 2018 is ‘Human’, a subject of 80’s synth-pop influences and a forward-thinking approach to the underground electronic music scene. Having originally composed ballads and instrumentals from as young as 7, her musical style now showcases the melodic songwriting from her roots, mixed with electronic production reminiscent of the 80’s synth-pop era.

Nardean – Nothing Matters

Egyptian-Australian MC Nardean blends science and spirituality in her light hearted
yet thought-provoking new single ‘Nothing Matters’. Nardean’s signature writing style is all over this song. Grinding the line between music and poetry, she jumps from rapping to speaking to singing effortlessly, all while giving you a science lesson.

Raw Collective – Waterproof Coat

The track from New Zealand’s Raw Collective skillfully blends hip-pop, funk, synthesisers and some unorthodox time signatures and structure. In short it’s a pop song from the future, influenced from the past, but available today.

An Interview with Andrea Di Giovanni Ahead of Pride’s Got Talent..

London songwriter and performer Andrea Di Giovanni is a true testament to the power of music overcoming all else.

Born into a strictly observant Roman Catholic family, Andrea grew up in Rome as part of a large Italian family. He spent a lot of his younger life struggling with his sexuality and identity. Coming from a strict Italian background, there was no shortage of oppression from the wider community. He has since, made the move to London where the affluence of safe spaces and creative communities, have helped him develop a positive mindset.

His new single ‘Our Own Way’ has just premiered on The Line of Best Fit, and has been supported by Spotify on their Fresh Finds playlist. The Italian songwriter is also through to the finals of Pride’s Got Talent this weekend.

We caught up with the rising talent, ahead of a big weekend..

Hi Andrea! Could you introduce yourself to the UMA followers?
Hi guys! Sure, i’m a 23 year old artist originally from Rome, Italy. I’m a pop culture enthusiast, proud LGBTQI+ activist and I love to combine pop melodies with dark atmospheres and moody/emotional lyrics. Imagery wise, I take great inspiration from fashion icons such as Bowie, Grace Jones & Boy George; through my visuals, I portray myself as a gender bending / avant-guard human being, who wants to push & break the silly taboos of a masculine based society.

Tell us about your new single ‘Our Own Way’?

Our Own Way is the first step of a new journey I will be taking everybody on in the upcoming months: it’s a song that talks about being able to finally let go of what was holding you back and starting to fully embrace yourself and your own power. It takes inspiration from my personal life like every song I write and with time, it’s gained a special meaning for me, as it really empowered me to go ‘my own way’ and finally live my life as my real self. I wrote the original demo 2 years ago and I’ve produced the track last summer with Tylr Rydr, who has worked with other great unsigned talent such as July Jones and ARION. I wanted to tackle pop from a different angle this time, letting the voice shine over a minimal but effective production, taking inspiration from Camila Cabello’s bop ‘Crying In The Club’.

You’ve not had the easiest experience growing up due to a number of factors, how does that affect your work creatively? Do you explore these themes in your writing?

I think that it helped my creativity to be really honest with you! I’ve always found great comfort in expressing my feelings through music and soon enough I realised it had a sort of therapeutic effect on me. Obviously, like every creative persona, I go through ups and downs and I have my down moments but most of all I try to have a positive attitude about it, no matter what’s happened to me in the past. I definitely explore those themes in my writing but I do prefer everything to be lead by emotions rather than over-thinking the process too much; I am proud activist when it comes to my community, talking about social/political issues on my social media platforms and wanting to represent queer artistry in the mainstream because it’s about time we get the recognition we deserve.

If you didn’t go into music, what would you be doing with your life now?

To be honest with you I can’t think about a life without music! Besides that, I’d be a counsellor/life-coach, I find a great source of inspiration in helping other people with their problems and seeing them thrive in the end.

You’re performing at Pride’s Got Talent this weekend.. How did that come about?

Oh my Gaga! I am so happy about it. I have been trying to get to the finals of this fabulous competition for 3 years and never got to there. This year I’ve made it and I feel so blessed and humbled by the opportunity, I will be singing at Trafalgar Square this summer too and I am so excited!!

Aside from the competition, any other shows lined up where fans can catch you?

At the moment, I have the performance at London’s Pride on the 7th of July at Trafalgar Square; my team and I are planning to play some live show during the summer though, once more new songs are going to be released.

Finally, shout out to any unsigned artists out there we should check out?

I would definitely say Indigo Face, LOUUD & Carl Olander.
